This corner has watched many versions of La Condesa come and go, all while keeping its habit of welcoming visitors. In front of the hotel, Betsabeé's wind-up car looks as if it's only paused for a moment. Off to one side, the Veracruz and Guadalajara street signs keep pointing the way, as if unaware that they too became part of the scenery long ago.
